college algebra

Post by Rayne » Sun Feb 20, 2011 5:37 pm

Hey is there anyone out there who could help me out and take a math test for me? The teacher gave a take home test and 100 would be great. Everyone I ask on craigslist asks me to pay the 100 dollars or more to do it: email me@ mxp6732@gmail.com and I will send the test its only 20 questions of level one college algebra. Thanks alot, riley will also give you some gold!

[1] Simplify (8+5i) + (5+2i) and write the answer in standard form.

Code: Select all

(8+5i)+(5+2i) = 13+7i
[2] Solve |12+9x|+3<10
Hint: first isolate the absolute value fuction on one side of the inequality and then solve for x using both case 1 and case.

[3] Write the quadratic function, f(x)= x^2 – 6x + 7, in standard form

Code: Select all

Already in standard form ax^2 + bx + c
[4] Solve the system by the method of elimination
2x+y=6
8x-y=36

[5]
Simplify the rational expression
-2x^3-x^2 + 35x – 50
-2x +5

[6] Use synthetic division to divide, Hint: Don't forget to use a placeholder for the missing terms (x^3 – 27x +54) / (x – 3)

Code: Select all

x^3 - 0^2 + 27x + 54
--------------------
        x - 3

    ----------------
  3 |  1  0  27  54
          3   9  108
    ----------------
       1  3  36  162r
      x2  x   c

x^2 + 3x + 36 + (162 / x - 3)

[7] Simplify (-4 -6i)^2 - (-4+6i)^2 and write the answer in standard form

[8] Use the quadratic formula to solve x^3 – 10x + 18 = 0

[9] Find all real zeros of the polynomial f(x)=x^3 + 7x2-x^2 – x – 7and determine the multiplicity of each.

[10] Find all solutions of 7x – 27 = 4

[11] Solve x^2 +4x +1 = 0 by completing the square or using the quadratic formula

[12] Write the exponential equation e^3/2=4.4817... in logarithmic form

[13] Find all solutions of (x^2+5)^3/2 = 27 Hint, raise both sides of the equation to the 1/3 power to leave the left side of the qeuation as the square root of the binomial then square both sides to get remove the half power exponent.

[14] Use back-substition to solve the system of linear equations
8x +6y -z=-17
7y+6z=19
z=-5

[15] Determine the equations of any horizontal and vertical asymptotes of
f(x)= x^2-25
x^2x – 30

[16] Identify the operation that will transform the graph of f(x)=2^2 into the graph of g(x)=2 – 2x.

[17]
Determine the domain of f (x) = x^2 + 11 x + 30
x^3 + 6x^2 – x = 6
Hint: Factor the denominator by grouping first and continue with the factoring.

[18] Determine the vertex of the graph of the quadratic function f(x)=x^2 + 7 x + 53

Code: Select all

f(x) = x^2 + 7 x + 53

a = 1
b = 7
c = 53

x value is  x = -b / 2*a
            x = -7 / 2*1
            x = -7 / 2

y value is  y = c - b^2 / 4*a
            y = (53) - (7^2) / 4*1
            y = 53 - 49 / 4
            y = 163/4

     (-7/2 , 163/4)
[19] Write the standard form of the equation of the parabola that has a vertex at (9, -4) and passes through the point (-5,8)

Code: Select all

Vertex of the parabola is ( +9 , -4 )

y = a ( x - 9 )^2 - 4

Parabola passes through the point ( -5 , +8 )

0 = a(-5 - 9)^2 - 4
4 = a(14)^2
4 = a196
a = 1 / 49

y = (1/49)(x-9)^2 - 4

[20]
Solve using any method
-4x + 8y = -6
y= x +1

My algebra consists of licking my finger and sticking It In the air to see which way the wind is blowing.
